The Lace Family has slipped into the waters of the WWW – better late than never I suppose.  This will be a blog for the entire family because I (Bert) have no intentions of rambling often enough on my own to keep it interesting.  The purpose(s) of this blog will serve the following:

1. A place for family news and updates

2. A place to us flush out and discuss in-depth issues of faith and life with extended family and friends

3. A place for Bert to scratch his apologetic itch with any who will interact

4. A place for us to express ideas and thoughts on corporate and private worship in the local church.

5. A place to enjoy a laugh, share a cry and exercise our knowledge BUT CANNOT be a place to live out our faith.

 As indicated in purpose #5, we desire this blog to be a powerful tool to exercise what we believe about God and His Word.  Our knowledge of the Truth can only be strengthened by exercising it.  We believe this medium has afforded a unique and effective way to exercise this knowledge by engaging others through written dialogue.  However, the WWW is not the only place to put that knowledge into practice.  We must practice it in everyday life.  Saying we know something to be true and putting what we know to be true into practice, are two different things.

Also, it will never be our intention to communicate in such a way as to appear as though we have completed the sanctification process.  We still have much to learn and desire to remain teachable all our days.  Our hope is to sharpen our family’s knowledge in an effort to help us better PRACTICE godly holiness. 

1 Peter Chapter 1: 

     14     As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,

     15     but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;

     16     because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
