I know this post will be disappointing to everyone but we did not go to the orphanage this afternoon. I totally misunderstood Eyob on the phone. He was coming to meet with us. He highly recommended waiting until the morning so that all of the staff and the nurse that had been caring for them the past couple of months would be there to help us with the transition. Also, it would give us the entire day with them in a setting they are familiar with before leaving with us – which is certainly understandable.
He could see our disappointment when we learned we weren’t go to visit the children. He said he would take us if we insisted but we decided to heed his advice. All that said, we will be met at 9:00 AM in the morning by a driver from the orphanage and be taken to the children. So one more night, after 15 months, we can certainly do.
The rest of our week is shaping us as follows: Monday at the KVI orphanage in Addis to meet the children; Tuesday with Rachel at Hope to do preliminary paperwork and get prepped for our embassy appointment; Wednesday at the embassy (pray all goes well); Thursday to Nazareth to visit the KVI orphanage and the children’s mother.
We are excited and fresh for the days ahead. Michelle’s health is getting better; we found a version of her inhaler in a local drug store. Again, check back. By tomorrow evening we should a have tear-jerking story of joy and hopefully a couple of pics…

Hey! When you are at the Hope House, could you look in on a little guy named Nuredin? He is between 5-7 years old (probably) and has a little brother. I can’t remember little brother’s name. They are the kids of a family here. Praying for you!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so glad that you are updating! I look constantly!!!
